Fun Fact: the image for the movie “The Truman Show” looks really pixelated, right? Turns out, this image is made up of tiny clips from every scene in the movie. How creative is that! If you zoom into any one section you will see that no scene was left out. It was all used to create this nice picture that now serves as the main graphic for this film.
. . . and so, it is with us! God is able and willing to use all of the scenes of our lives—the good, the bad and the ugly—to create a beautiful piece of art. We may be unable to understand the purpose behind the hard stuff. We may not see the good in the bad stuff. We are outright, legitimately disgusted with the unjust, unfair, and flat-out wrongful treatment we hear about, witness, or experience ourselves.
My dear sweet friend! I can hear Isaiah saying,
“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are [His] ways higher than [our] ways and [His] thoughts than [our] thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9)
God is all-knowing, all-wise, all-powerful, and works all things together for good—both His good and our good. He sees the big picture. He has a master plan. Let’s trust Him today. Let’s view the events of our lives through the lenses of faith in the Most High God.
From that vantage point, we are likely to see less of the mess in our current situation and more of the Messiah at work in our lives.
